June 5 – Staying together for the kids

The kids today have been invited to their friends house.

So we’ve been driving them around town and left them at their friends house.

It’s one of the few moments we’re alone together. Since our last discussions I am still trying to understand what’s going on and I am still trying to make things right.

After offering flowers that ended up in the garbage, a dinner invitation at a restaurant that she declined, I tried again today with a Spa invitation.

Without much hesitation she declined. She says it’s too rushed and that I should stop making invitations

I am so confused, how is a couple supposed to recover if you don’t make the effort to sit down and discuss? How are we supposed to get back together if we don’t give ourselves the chance to do so?

Seems like a dead end to me. I feel so depressed. She’s telling me right now we are only here together for the kids. Nothing else.

To me we might as well work on the relationship. But no, she tells me there’s no more feelings and that you can’t make someone love you. I agree that you can’t force someone to love you but we were together for 15 years, married for almost 14. To me you can’t just change all of a sudden just like that.

I am so lost.
