Today, my wife and kids were invited by her colleague to her new place.
After doing some work at my parents house, I just left and went out by myself.
I started wandering around only to end up downtown at a concert.
Technically, I registered to a local Meetup and they had a group that were attending a concert. It was my second time in a week, but before that probably in a few decade that I attended an event were I was by myself and not knowing anyone.
The Meetup organizer was really friendly and actually I noticed that a few people of the Meetup encounter already knew each other. I didn’t know anyone, but people were really friendly and everyone went around to say hi to each other.
It was nice to see mostly out of towner who were looking at a way to integrate into this new place of theirs.
Time went by pretty quickly, the music was loud, but it was still fun. At least it kept me from thinking about my situation for a good part of the night.
I’ll try to see if I can attend more Meetups but with two kids to supervise and a wife who is mostly not at home late at night, it’s hard but I’ll see. Overall a good experience and encounters. I’m totally out of my comfort zone thought. I’ll keep working on that aspect of mine which I truly am awful at.
